Select Fridays we offer run throughs for AKC Rally Novice or advanced, AKC Beginner Novice/Novice, UKC Rally Level 1. Cost: $16 per run through
Conformation Classes Instructor Lori Grootemaat Tuesdays and Thursdays class times are 6pm, 7pm, 8pm. cost: $10 per dog.

AKC Star Puppy/Puppy Manners
Basic 1
Instructor: Casey Benzing
Length: 8 weeks, 45 minute classes
Cost: $150*
Prerequisites: For Puppies 8 weeks to 1 year.
Description: This class is designed to help you and your puppy build a solid foundation in basic obedience. We'll cover: Basic commands, crate training tips, walking on a leash, everyday manners to make life with your puppy more enjoyable. Puppies will have the opportunity to socialize on leash, and we will take time to address individual and concerns.
Who Can Join: Puppies aged 8 weeks to 1 year. No AKC registration required to participate.
Interested in the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Program? With AKC registration may be eligible to take the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy test at the end of the course.

Basic 2
Instructor: Casey Benzing
Length: 8 weeks, 45 minute classes
Cost: $150*
Prerequisites: This class is for dogs who have completed the Basic 1 level at JPH or have a solid understanding of the following commands: sit, down, come, heel, wait, and stay.
Description: This course continues to build on foundational obedience skills such as sit, down, come, heel, stay, and finish. Handlers will learn techniques to increase distance and duration for each behavior while reinforcing calm and polite manners at home and in public. We'll also introduce new games and exercises designed to improve your dog's focus on you- especially in distracting environments.

Intermediate 2
Instructor: Casey Benzing
Length: 8 weeks, 45 minute classes
Cost: $150*
Prerequisites: For Dogs who have completed the intermediate 1 level at JPH or have necessary skills to train in AKC Beginner Novice/Novice.
Description: This class will continue building on obedience skills learned in intermediate 1, including down, sit, come, heel, wait, stay, and finish, distractions, middle, recall. Handlers will be given the skills/games to keep dogs focus on the handler and off the many distractions you will come across daily. In this class the handler and dog will start learning figure 8s, and heeling pace changes.

AKC Novice
Instructor: Casey Benzing
Length: 8 weeks, 45 minute classes

Prerequisites: Must have completed the AKC Beginner Novice or have a clear understanding of Basic Obedience.
Description: This class will cover the exercises and rules needed to successfully compete in AKC Novice, such as heel, come, figure 8, sit and down stays, off leash heeling, stand for exam.

Intro to AKC Rally Novice
Instructor: Casey Benzing
Length: 6 weeks, 45 minute classes
Cost: $120*
Prerequisites: For those looking to get into the sport of AKC Rally Obedience or just want something fun to do with your dog's. Dogs/Handlers MUST have a clear understanding of the skills including down, sit, come, heel ( on left side), wait, stay, and finish.
Junior handlers are welcome, 12 and older. Parents of junior handlers must stay onsite during class.
Description: This course will introduce you to the sport of AKC Rally! Students will learn the AKC Rally Novice signs along with skills that will help each team achieve their best performances of the principal component of each sign.

AKC Rally Advanced

Prerequisites: Must Have Completed AKC Rally Intermediate
Description: Learn how to navigate AKC Rally intermediate and advanced courses. Perfect individual signs, common handler issues, review rules and strategies for competition.

Prerequisites: Proof of Rabies vaccination is required and must be presented at the first class. Dogs must be older than 6 months or have completed the Star Puppy Class.
Description: This class will introduce and reinforce core obedience skills including sit, down, come, heel, wait, stay, and finish. Handlers will learn techniques to help keep their dogs safe and support their development into polite, well-mannered family companions.

Intermediate 1
Instructor: Casey Benzing
Length: 8 weeks, 45 minute classes
Cost: $150*
Prerequisites: Dogs must have completed basic level 2 at JPH or demonstrate a solid understanding of the following: sit, down, come, heel, wait, stay, beginning distraction training. Ability to hold a sit or down for up to one minute.
Description: This course is designed to build on the foundation established in Basic 1 and 2. Teams will strengthen obedience commands and develop greater distance, duration, and distraction, resistance. New skills, games will be introduced to enhanced focus and engagement, helping dogs tune out daily distractions and stay connected to their handler. Topics include: Extended heeling exercises, rear-end awareness, formal recall foundations, "middle" position and more.

AKC Beginner Novice/ Novice

Prerequisites: Dogs must have completed intermediate obedience or demonstrate a solid understanding of the following commands: sit, down, come, heel, wait, stay, and finish.
Description: This class prepares dogs and handlers for AKC Beginner Novice and Novice level competition. Skills covered include: heel (on and off leash), come when called, figure 8, sit-stay with handler walking around room, sit for exam.
Novice exercises such as down-stay, sit-stay, Stand, and more, while this class is ideal for those looking to enter competition, it is also perfect for pet owners seeking to improve their dog's reliability in stays, recalls, and off leash control.

Advanced Obedience

Prerequisites: For dogs and handlers actively training or competing in AKC Beginner Novice, Novice.
Description: This course is designed for dogs and handlers who are preparing to compete in AKC Novice and Open levels. The class will focus on refining core obedience skills, ring readiness, and may also introduce higher-level competition exercises. Introducing dogs to the dumbbell work and jumps required to compete in the open level. Please bring dumbbell along to each class.

AKC Rally Novice/ Intermediate

Prerequisites: For dogs who have completed the AKC Rally Novice, or have a clear understanding of the skills including down, sit, come, heel, wait, stay, and finish. Handler must have an understanding on how to navigate a Rally course, be able to read and perform all rally novice signs.
Description: In this class you and your dog will continue learn how to navigate a rally novice/intermediate course, perfect each sign, work on handler issues, as well as the rules for competing.
